The wedding day was everything we both ever dreamed of - definitely the best day of our lives! We woke up full of anticipation, Allison waking up at 4am and not being able to get back to sleep! The day was perfect, although a little cloudy it was not too cold for a December's day and luckily there was not a single bit of rain.
The service was very emotional although not too solemn. Vanessa, Allison's sister, broke down in tears during her reading although blamed it on the hormones (she was 5 months pregnant!). The service was short and sweet but just perfect, and we then got into our wonderful wedding car for a short ride before embarking on the longest photo shoot ever!
After a delicious dinner, the speeches started off with Allison's dad recounting the history of cricket (not kidding!) followed by a description of how we got engaged in the Cayman Islands (wrong daughter dad!). We both made speeches (short ones!) thanking everyone who had made the day so special. This was followed by the traditional best man's speech which was also traditionally very long but not too scarring!
We then cut our extremely mouth watering chocolate wedding cake, followed by our first dance - "Have I told you lately" by Van Morrison. Then the fun really began - we had a barn dance which was a big hit with the family! Before we knew it, it was time to go......
